Reasons why to elope

Elopements are less stressful. Trying to figure out who to invite and what our families or friends are going to think. Planning a traditional wedding involves a lot of people—and unfortunately, unsolicited opinions as well. It can easily become overwhelming and stressful! And who wants that on the biggest day of their lives? Eloping eliminates that stress and allows you to start your life with an epic adventure because you deserve that!
I'm not saying that a traditional wedding is all stress, it's got beautiful moments too. I'm just saying that if you want a stress-free(ish) planning journey, then eloping is a better option. You can plan it entirely around you and your partner's needs, only taking yourself into consideration for once.

That brings me to the next reason- you can entirely focus on the two of you. It’s ok if you’re thinking about eloping because you want to enjoy the moment together and be completely present. You are creating an authentic experience where you can soak in every moment. Now that doesn't mean that you have to do it alone. It means whatever you want it to mean. We took 15 of our closest friends and family to Iceland (including our photographer and videographer) and it was the best decision of our lives. We shared the new experience with our hearts-people, traveled Iceland for a week (and obvs got married) and then following week everyone went home and we had our honeymoon travelling around Iceland.

It's more meaningful and intimate. No matter how in the moment you plan to be at your traditional wedding, it’s nearly impossible to focus only on each other. Most bridal couples worry more about their guests rather than themselves. Eloping is private, intimate, and unforgettable. You can have a true adventure, and have plenty of time to be present and enjoy the day with your partner. This can mean different things to couples, maybe your idea of intimate is only the two of you, for others it might be with 20 people. It's totally up to you! The best of all is you can ask a family member or your best friend you marry you! You just do all the legal stuff first or after. That was one of most special memories- when my husband's brother married us.

One of the best reasons to elope is probably having the opportunity to explore somewhere new together. A lot of couples who decide to elope are adventurous and value experiences. Deciding to elope is also a great idea if you’re thinking about combining your honeymoon and wedding day into one big event. If your dream is to travel Italy or run in the meadows of Ireland? Go for it! Just pack your wedding dress and ask your best friends and close family to save with you to embark on an adventure. :)

Are the travel expenses included in your packages or covered additionally?
Weddings: first 20km are free from Knysna. Other sessions: first 10km are free from Knysna
Can we receive the RAw images?
Unfortunately not. I spend hours and hours to edit your images.
We want to include our dog into the photos, is that okay?
Of course, they are apart of the family after-all!
Can we customise a package?
I only make changes for weddings or elopement packages. It all depends on the variables. I have a separate way of calculating overseas packages. Send me an email and let's chat.
How long does it take to recieve the photos after the session and how will those be delivered?
Weddings: photos will be delivered via an online gallery to share with your friends and family, and you will receive your photos after 11 weeks. Other sessions: photos will be delivered via an online gallery to share with your friends and family, and you will receive your photos after 4 weeks.
If we do decide to elope, do we have to use an officiator?
For the ceremony, no. You can do all the paper work before or after the elopement. On the day you can ask anyone to marry you, a friend, bother or sister. It's up to you, and it makes it so much more special.
Do you travel?
Yes! Literally ANYWHERE!
